Hello and Welcome!

Some things about myself are:

• My name is Laura
• I was born and raised in Las Cruces, NM
• My major is business management - HR
• This is my first time leaving the U.S.
• I love food! traveling! and meeting people from all over the world!

      I grew up on stories of my grandfather traveling the world doing "mysterious" jobs, going missing for years and coming home with all sorts of miscellaneous goods from different regions of the globe. Whether it's in my genes or perhaps just a lifelong inspiration, I have always had an itch on my back about wanting to travel the world. I have always been mesmerized by Japan; the land, the food, the people and culture I thought it was very beautiful and different. I have had the pleasure of befriending people from several different countries through an international ambassador club at my college. The exchange students that we help have inspired me to do as they did. I always put off studying abroad for various reasons (excuses) but I have decided to spend my very last semester of college to satisfy this itch on my back. I know I will have many regrets in my life, but studying abroad is an opportunity that I knew in the future I would constantly be kicking myself for passing up. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to live and attend school in another country, and through my story... I would like to inspire others to do the same. Jobs will always be there, careers can always change, and money can always be made back. Don't let "once in a lifetime" opportunities pass by, because you will never know what you were missing out on.
